Kerry Samways, Karen Curtis and Claire Sherwood from Hythe View have been named finalists in the Great British Care Awards 2026, recognising their contributions across catering, dementia care and home management.

Kerry Samways is a finalist in the Care Home Cook/Chef Award. Mealtimes are an important part of care home life, bringing enjoyment, familiarity and opportunities to socialise. The nomination highlights the contribution of those who prepare meals that reflect residents’ tastes, preferences and dietary needs.

Karen Curtis is a South East regional finalist in the Dementia Carer Award. This recognition celebrates a vital area of care, where patience, understanding and getting to know each person help residents feel comfortable, supported and valued.

Claire Sherwood, Registered Manager at Hythe View, is a South East regional finalist in the Care Home Registered Manager Award. Her role includes overseeing the home’s day-to-day running, supporting colleagues and working with residents and families to maintain a welcoming and caring environment.

Together, these finalist places reflect the different skills and responsibilities that contribute to life at Hythe View. They also provide an opportunity to acknowledge the wider team, whose work supports residents every day.
