Kerry Samways and Karen Curtis from Hythe View have been nominated for the National Care Awards 2026, in the Care Chef of the Year and Deputy Manager of the Year categories respectively.

Kerry Samways’ nomination for Care Chef of the Year highlights the important contribution catering makes to residents’ daily lives. Preparing enjoyable, nutritious meals that accommodate individual tastes and dietary requirements is an essential part of care. Mealtimes also offer opportunities for conversation, companionship and familiar routines.

Karen Curtis’ nomination for Deputy Manager of the Year recognises her role within Hythe View’s management team. A deputy manager helps coordinate the day-to-day delivery of care, supports colleagues and works closely with the registered manager to maintain standards throughout the home.

The two nominations represent different but closely connected aspects of life at Hythe View. From the meals residents enjoy to the support they receive, each team member has a part to play in creating a comfortable and welcoming home.
